Knit at Sea
Alaska
July 24 - 31, 2026
For Norman's Class
-
Knitting needles in the size of your choice (we will be knitting flat)
-
A yarn with a good stitch definition in one solid colour matching your needle size.
Traditional Bavarian patterns are typically knit on 2.00 mm needles (U.S. size 0) for men, and 1.25 – 2.00 mm for women (U.S. size 000 to 0 . The traditional yarn choice would be grey or green fingering weight sheep wool (100 g = 400-420 m) for men or a white cotton thread for women (50 g = 300m). Since you will only be knitting a sampler, please use the yarn weight of your choice. A yarn with a high twist is recommended so the motives really pop.
